A familiar face to the local arts scene, Steven Foord will help to further support artists and an organization that works with them.

The Allied Arts Council of Lethbridge (AAC) has appointed Foord as its new executive director.

Foord says, “I am honoured to step into this role and continue working alongside the incredible artists, organizations, supporters, and community partners that make Lethbridge’s arts scene so dynamic. The AAC has long been a vital advocate for the arts, and I’m excited to help continue that legacy and aid in shaping Lethbridge’s artistic future.”

He has been involved in Lethbridge’s arts scene for more than 15 years, beginning as a musician.

Foord is one of the founders of The Owl Acoustic Lounge in downtown Lethbridge and played a pivotal role in fostering a vibrant creative hub.

He first joined the AAC in 2024 as Manager of Engagement and has helped to expand its membership and make the organization more efficient.

His volunteer experience includes initiatives like the South Country Fair, Shaela Miller’s Youth Songwriting Retreat, and the Downtown Lethbridge Business Revitalization Zone.

The AAC invites the community to attend its Annual General Meeting on Tuesday, March 25 at 7:00 p.m. in the Community Room at Casa. Anybody interested in attending is asked to RSVP by emailing info@artslethbridge.org
