A Lethbridge woman wants to help “make Canada strong again.”

Clara Piedalue has been confirmed as the candidate for the People’s Party of Canada (PPC) in Lethbridge for the 2025 federal election.

She says she is running in the election because she has had enough of the key talking points from the federal Liberal government without accountability or action.

Piedalue tells LNN that she chose to run with the PPC because they are a “classical conservative and libertarian party.”

“They believe in individual freedoms and personal responsibility, and those are two key values that I really resonate with. Essentially what that means is lower taxation and less government overreach.”

If elected, Piedalue says some of her top priorities would be eliminating the entire carbon tax, reducing regulations to reduce the cost of building homes, and making immigration more merit-based, rather than the current “open door approach.”

Piedalue has lived in Lethbridge for the last 17 years and says it has been a great place to raise her family.

Working as a business broker for the last nine years, she believes she has developed a good sense of what people, particularly business owners, want and need.

“From what I’ve been hearing, it’s really less regulation so that business owners can do what they do best, and that’s innovate and thrive,” says Piedalue.

The public can learn more about Piedalue and the PPC at PeoplesPartyOfCanada.ca or on the PPC Lethbridge Riding Facebook page.

A date for the federal election is set to be called in the coming days.
