Lethbridge Hurricanes to face Brandon in opening round of WHL playoffs

There are just a few days to go before the start of the Western Hockey League (WHL) playoffs and the Lethbridge Hurricanes now know who they will be facing.

The Canes will take on the Brandon Wheat Kings in the first round, a team Lethbridge has a favourable record against.

They won three of four games against Brandon in the 2024-25 regular season, only losing once in a shootout.

The best-of-seven series has the following dates:

  • Game 1 – Friday, March 28th – Lethbridge vs. Brandon – 7:00pm MT (VisitLethbridge.com Arena)
  • Game 2 – Saturday, March 29th – Lethbridge vs. Brandon – 6:00pm MT (VisitLethbridge.com Arena)
  • Game 3 – Tuesday, April 1st – Lethbridge at Brandon – 6:00pm MT (Virden)
  • Game 4 – Wednesday, April 2nd – Lethbridge at Brandon – 6:00pm MT (Virden)
  • *Game 5 – Friday, April 4th – Lethbridge vs. Brandon – 7:00pm MT (VisitLethbridge.com Arena)
  • *Game 6 – Sunday, April 6th – Lethbridge at Brandon – 3:00pm MT (Virden)
  • *Game 7 – Tuesday, April 8th – Lethbridge vs. Brandon – 7:00pm MT (VisitLethbridge.com Arena)
  • * if necessary

Lethbridge ended the regular season ranked fourth in the Eastern Conference while the Wheat Kings were fifth.

The Canes wrapped up the regular season with a 4-2 win over the Edmonton Oil Kings on Friday before getting demolished 10-1 by the Medicine Hat Tigers on Saturday.

Individual game tickets for the first round will go on sale on Monday, March 24th at 10:00am. Tickets can be purchased by visiting the Yates Memorial Theatre and VisitLethbridge.com Arena Ticket Centre, by calling 403-329-SEAT (7328) or online at www.visitlethbridgearena.ca.
