The Lethbridge Hurricanes kicked off the 2025 WHL playoffs on a great note, winning their two opening contests against the Brandon Wheat Kings.

Games one and two were played at the VisitLethbridge.com Arena on Friday and Saturday.

The Canes came out on top 6-3 in Friday’s clash as Leo Braillard led scoring with two goals and one assist.

Shane Smith, Kooper Gizowski, Anthony Wilson and Vojtech Port also hit the net for Lethbridge.

The game-winning goal was scored just 2:03 into the second period.

Game two was a lot closer as the Canes emerged with a 4-3 victory.

Brayden Yager hit the net twice for Lethbridge with his first goal coming within the opening minute of the contest.

Miquel Marques and Carsen Adair also made the scoreboard.

Each game had just over 4,000 fans in attendance.

Games three and four are in Virden, Manitoba on Tuesday and Wednesday.

If a fifth game is needed in the first-round series, that will take place in Lethbridge on Friday, April 4.
