Brocket man charged with drug trafficking

The RCMP has charged one person in southern Alberta with drug trafficking-related offences.

The Piikani Nation RCMP searched a home on 20 Street in Brocket on Monday, March 31, 2025, and claim to have confiscated:

  • Illicit drugs
  • Prescription medication
  • Scales with drug residue, and other indicia of drug trafficking
  • $1,620 CAD
  • Numerous edged weapons including a prohibited butterfly knife
  • Two replica firearms
  • Two rifle magazines, including one that is capable of holding 30 rounds (prohibited device)

A 36-year-old man and an underaged girl, both from Brocket, were arrested in the home.

The girl was released without charges, while the man faces five charges relating to the possession of drugs, items and weapons used in the proceeds of crime.

Charges have yet to be sworn into court, so the man’s name cannot be released at this time. He is scheduled to appear on May 29, 2025.
