Over $100,000 raised at Youth One Gala

A local non-profit is celebrating the success of its recent event.

The Youth One Gala brought in more than $100,000 in donations on Friday, March 28, 2025.

“This will support 66 individual youth for the entire school year at Youth One and includes over 1,600 hours of access to engaging and empowering afterschool spaces for each youth, food at every program, trained staff and mentors and more,” says Youth One in a fundraising update.

The organization provides after-school programming and mentorship opportunities for youths aged 11-18 in Lethbridge.

They say about half of all youths in Canada will grow up without a mentor or role model in their life, meaning many will go through adolescence with limited support and guidance.

According to Youth One, having even one positive role model or mentor dramatically reduces the risks of alcohol abuse, crime rates, mental health issues and school drop-out rates.
