The Town of Coaldale wants to get a better idea of the community’s needs for seniors’ housing.

It has launched a six-week public engagement campaign.

Mayor Jack Van Rijn says a key priority for council is ensuring Coaldale remains an inclusive and welcoming community for residents of all ages.

“By proactively facilitating diverse housing options, we are supporting our residents in their ability to age in place and ensuring that Coaldale remains a community where everyone can find a home that suits their needs,” says Van Rijn.

He continues, “This public engagement campaign aligns directly with our 2021-2025 Strategic Plan, which explicitly calls for us to take an active role in shaping housing solutions that allow our residents to remain in the community they call home.”

A survey has been launched, which can either be completed online here or in person at the Civic Square town office if you would prefer a paper copy.

The Town is also hosting an open house on Wednesday, May 14 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Civic Square.
