Lethbridge Hurricanes advance to second round of playoffs

The Lethbridge Hurricanes have taken their WHL first-round playoff series against the Brandon Wheat Kings.

On home ice Friday evening, the Canes emerged with a 5-2 to clinch the series four games to one.

All five goals were scored by different members of the Lethbridge Hurricanes.

Brayden Yager started things off for Lethbridge, hitting the next about 4.5 minutes into the first period.

After a pair of goals from the Wheat Kings in the first period, Jordan Gustafson evened things up for Lethbridge early in the second.

The Canes had three goals in the final period as Noah Chadwick, Logan McCutcheon and Brayden Edwards all added points.

Lethbridge is set to face the Calgary Hitmen, who swept the Saskatoon Blades, in the second round of the playoffs. The series schedule is as follows:

• Game 1 – Thursday, April 10^th – Lethbridge at Calgary – 7:00pm (Scotiabank Saddledome)
• Game 2 – Saturday, April 12^th – Lethbridge at Calgary – 6:00pm (Scotiabank Saddledome)
• Game 3 – Tuesday, April 15^th – Lethbridge vs. Calgary – 7:00pm (VisitLethbridge.com Arena)
• Game 4 – Wednesday, April 16^th – Lethbridge vs. Calgary – 7:00pm (VisitLethbridge.com Arena)
