The Lethbridge Police Service (LPS) has apprehended two people who are accused of drug trafficking.

Just after 3:00 a.m. on Monday, April 7, 2024, officers were called to the area of the 3500 block of 2 Ave South on an unrelated matter, when an officer claimed to have seen a vehicle commit multiple traffic violations.

The vehicle was stopped and police say the license plate did not match the vehicle.

According to LPS, the man driving the vehicle had a Canada-wide diving prohibition and a female passenger was wanted on an outstanding warrant.

A search of the vehicle was conducted and LPS says they seized 200 doses of fentanyl, 620 doses of methamphetamine, more than 130 narcotic pills, nearly $1,000 in cash and a stolen e-bike.

Adam Richard Filipcic, 35, of Claresholm, is charged with operation of a motor vehicle while prohibited, trafficking in stolen property, two counts of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, possession of stolen property over $5,000, and issued tickets for seven traffic violations.

Following a bail hearing, Filipcic was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court on April 17.

Kerry Lynn Grebely, 34, of Brocket, is charged with possession of a controlled substance, failing to comply with release order conditions, and obstructing a peace officer (for providing a false name).

Following a bail hearing, Grebely was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court on May 1.
