Nighttime construction on Hwy 3 in Lethbridge starts April 17

Drivers in Lethbridge should be aware of some road work on Highway 3 that will take place over the next three months.

Crews with Ledcor Highways Ltd., on behalf of Alberta Transportation and Economic Corridors, will conduct nighttime construction from April 17 to July 31, 2025.

It will be on Highway 3 from just east of Highway 25 to east of 43 Street, including the 43 Street intersection

This will be done every day between 7:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m.

The work will include milling, paving, concrete work, signage and signal upgrades.

Motorists can expect to see grooved pavement, temporary markings, and reduced speed zones, as well as closures to lanes, ramps and turning lanes overnight.

During the day (7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.), ramps and two lanes in each direction will be open.

Electronic message boards and signage will be in place to advise motorists of upcoming changes. The July 31 completion date is weather-dependent. For updates, visit 511.alberta.ca

Traffic cameras for Highway 3 in the Lethbridge river valley, as well as Whoop-Up Drive, can be viewed on the City of Lethbridge website.

The City of Lethbridge clarifies that this is not their project; it is provincial.
