Minister Matt Jones travelling south to promote trade, energy and investment
The Minister of Jobs, Economy and Trade, Matt Jones, is travelling south to promote Alberta’s potential for trade, energy and investment.
Jones will travel to Michigan, Ohio and Illinois from Apr. 21-24 to strengthen economic relationships and tout Alberta’s competitive advantage. He will meet with U.S. officials and business leaders in an effort to advance Alberta’s position in a critical trade corridor for energy, agriculture and more.
“Michigan, Ohio, and Illinois are key trade partners, driving Alberta’s energy exports and economic growth. This mission is an opportunity to continue our government’s advocacy in the U.S. with business leaders and government officials across the midwest,” said Jones.
The government says Michigan, Ohio and Illinois were chosen for the mission due to their high trade volumes, direct ties to Alberta businesses and insights from the Alberta Chicago Office.
