Lethbridge woman wins $100,000 on scratch ticket

A local woman is taking home six figures.

The Western Canada Lottery Corporation says Jovelyn Fernandez won a $100,000 prize on her $20 GOLDEN EGG Scratch & Win ticket.

She says she typically only plays Scratch & Win tickets because she loves how they offer an instant win reveal.

“I scratched this ticket and scanned it on the terminal [in store],” she explained. “[When I saw the win] I thought, ‘Is this real?’”

Fernandez adds, “I had to have my husband check it and then my daughter. We read the instructions on the ticket just to make sure.”

She says she plans to use her winnings to pay off the family’s vehicles and to do some home renovations.

The winning ticket was purchased at the Petro Canada gas station at 1606 Mayor Magrath Drive South.
