The Lethbridge Hurricanes’ dream of capturing the WHL Championship stays alive.

The Canes defeated the Calgary Hitmen in Game 7 of their second-round playoff series on Wednesday at the Scotiabank Saddledome.

Brayden Edwards was eager to get Lethbridge on the scoreboard, getting the team their first point after just 3:22. Luke Cozens and Caden Price provided assists.

Calgary evened things up about 10 minutes later, but Logan Wormald would score the game-winning goal for the Canes later in the first period, thanks to some help from Edwards and Logan McCutcheon.

Cozens potted an insurance goal 3:33 into the third period, his first career playoff goal.

Despite being outshot 35-25, the Hurricanes came away with a 3-1 victory.

“The win for the Hurricanes ended the series as Lethbridge improved to 7-1 lifetime in Game 7’s while their record lifted to 3-0 all-time on the road in Game 7’s,” reads a game recap from the Hurricanes. “The ‘Canes improved to 2-4 all-time in playoff series against the Hitmen.”
