The Vulcan RCMP says it has recovered two fire trucks that were stolen from a nearby community.

At approximately 11:30 p.m. on Sunday, April 20, officers were notified of a commercial alarm. While en route, they say two fire trucks from the Village of Champion were seen travelling at a high rate of speed, despite not having their emergency lights activated.

“Given the proximity of Champion Fire Hall to the commercial alarm, police attempted to stop the fire trucks but the vehicles continued,” reads a media release from the Vulcan RCMP.

One suspect was arrested. The second has been identified, but the RCMP is continuing to look for them.

Jaeden Glabb, 25, of Peace River, is charged with three counts of breaching a release order, two counts of break and enter to a business, two counts of possession of property obtained by crime, and one count each of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle and flight from a peace officer.

Glabb remains in custody.

The investigation is ongoing.
