The WHL’s Eastern Conference Final continues this week, pitting two of southern Alberta’s best hockey teams against each other.

The Lethbridge Hurricanes lost both of the opening games of the third-round playoff series to the Medicine Hat Tigers this past weekend.

Friday’s opener saw the Canes suffer a 5-2 defeat as Logan Wormald and Brayden Yager hit the net for Lethbridge.

The Tigers secured a decisive 7-2 win on Saturday.

It was all Medicine Hat in the first two periods as they scored seven goals in a row. The Canes did not make it onto the scoreboard until the third period, when Kooper Gizowski and Anthony Wilson got points.

Games three and four return to the VisitLethbridge.com Arena on Tuesday and Wednesday, April 29 and 30. Tickets can be purchased here.

Game six, if necessary, will also be held in Lethbridge.
