Hyggen says Thomas has a proven history of public service, and he is eager to continue working with her to ensure the city’s priorities are met.

Van Rijn shared a similar sentiment, as his community is also part of the Lethbridge federal riding.

The mayors also congratulated all of the other candidates for showing the courage to advocate so strongly for their community.

Van Rijn says, “It takes a tremendous amount of time, dedication, and personal sacrifice to run for public office. Each of you has contributed to strengthening our democratic process, and for that, you have our deepest appreciation.”

Hyggen adds that he appreciated how every candidate had the common goal of supporting the city.
