The Lethbridge Hurricanes’ run for the WHL Championship has come to an end.

The team was eliminated in game four of the Eastern Conference Final on Wednesday, falling 5-3 to the Medicine Hat Tigers.

Things looked promising for the Canes right out of the gate as Logan Wormald got his club on the scoreboard just 2:32 into the contest, thanks to assists from Brayden Edwards and Miguel Marques.

However, the Tigers were dominant throughout the rest of the first two periods, scoring four goals in a row.

Lethbridge rallied in the third period as Kash Andresen and Anthony Wilson secured back-to-back points to bring the game to 4-3.

With less than one minute left on the clock, Gavin McKenna scored one final goal for Medicine Hat to bring the game to its conclusion.

They won all four games in the series and have only lost once so far in the entire 2025 playoffs.

The Tigers will ensure southern Alberta is represented in the WHL Championship as they will face either the Spokane Chiefs or Portland Winterhawks. Spokane leads the Western Conference Championships 3-0.
