Child porn charges laid against Blairmore man

A 36-year-old man from Crowsnest Pass has been placed behind bars for alleged offences related to child pornography.

ALERT’s Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) Unit searched a home in Blairmore on April 28, 2025, and arrested a suspect.

The agency says it previously arrested the same man for similar offences in October 2019.

William McQueen is charged with possessing, accessing and making child pornography available. He also faces “multiple” firearms offences as ALERT claims that he improperly stored a firearm in his home.

“ALERT identified McQueen as a suspect following a tip from the RCMP’s National Child Exploitation Crime Centre. McQueen allegedly shared child sexual exploitation materials over social media applications Discord and Snapchat,” reads a news release from ALERT.

He was released from custody on conditions and is set to appear in court on May 8, 2025.

Anyone with information on this investigation or any child exploitation situation is asked to contact their local police, or to report their concern anonymously to Crime Stoppers (1-800-222-TIPS).
