River Valley fire ban lifted in Lethbridge

May 15, 2025 | 2:03 PM

The City of Lethbridge is once again allowing the public to use fire pits in the coulees.

The River Valley fire ban has been lifted, effective immediately.

Recent changes in weather conditions, including rain and lower temperatures, have reduced the fire risk in the area.

Residents are still asked to be cautious when having outdoor fires.

  • Only burn clean, dry wood
  • Ensure the fire is completely extinguished before you leave

The public is also asked to be careful when disposing of smoking materials.

More information on fire restrictions can be found on the City of Lethbridge’s website.

A map of all active fire restrictions in the province is on AlbertaFireBans.ca
