Provincial government invests into Mitacs Internship Program
This week the provincial government announced they’re investing $15 million over three years in the Mitacs Internship Program so post-secondary students can gain valuable hands-on industry experience.
As Alberta’s economy continues to grow, the government is investing into students to help them develop the skills and abilities needed to meet the workforce demands and succeed in a changing and competitive job market.
“Hands-on learning is critical to helping students get the skills and training they need, and to prepare them for success in their careers,” said Rajan Sawhney, Minister of Advanced Education.
“By working together with industry and the post-secondary system, we are ensuring students receive high-quality education while building the research and innovation labour force that the economy of the future will require.”
