Local vendors are gearing up for the return of the Lethbridge Farmers’ Market.

The indoor market kicks off June 14, running every Saturday at the Agri-food Hub & Trade Centre from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., while the outdoor downtown market is on Wednesdays, starting July 2 from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Festival Square.

Deborah Gordon, Director of Client Services at Lethbridge & District Exhibition, says she is already hearing excitement in the community.

“We know both the Saturday and Wednesday Farmers’ Markets are events the city looks forward to every year,” says Gordon. “While great for shoppers, the markets are also an important outlet for local vendors, who have the chance to grow their businesses and reach new customers. We’re excited for another great year.”

Being an Alberta-approved Farmers’ Market means that at least 80 per cent of the products for sale must be made, baked or grown in Alberta.

Admission to the farmers’ markets is free.

Vendors who are interested in becoming part of the markets can apply now at agrifoodhub.ca
