Residents of Lethbridge will soon be able to keep themselves cool outdoors.

The City of Lethbridge is kicking off “splash season” on Friday, May 23, at noon by opening its spray parks.

Legacy Spray Park is the city’s biggest splash zone and it has areas for toddlers, the whole family, and for kids aged five to 12. It will be open daily from 12:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

The Rotary Centennial Fountain in Galt Gardens features nearly 100 jets dancing in sync with music and lights. It will be open daily from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

The exact hours may be adjusted based on community needs and weather conditions.

Gyro Spray Park at the Nicholas Sheran Leisure Centre will remain closed for most of the season. The City says it will only open on days when the temperature is forecast to reach at least 30 degrees Celsius.

All local spray parks are free of charge. They will remain open through the Labour Day long weekend in September, “or as long as Mother Nature allows.”
