Fire ban issued for Lethbridge River Valley

The public is being advised that fires are no longer allowed in the coulees.

The City of Lethbridge has enacted a fire ban for the River Valley, effective immediately.

They say warmer temperatures and lower humidity have “significantly” elevated the risk of fires.

Residents are asked to be cautious when disposing of smoking materials as they can easily ignite dry vegetation and cause uncontrolled fires.
