Two seriously injured in rollover in Lethbridge

May 27, 2025 | 10:02 AM

The Lethbridge Police Service (LPS) is looking into potential criminal charges after a vehicle rolled over and sent two people to hospital.

At approximately 9:20 p.m. on Monday, May 26, police and EMS were called to a single vehicle rollover in the coulees behind the 800 block of Jessie Mcleay Road North.

LPS says a 33-year-old woman, who was a passenger, was found a short distance from the vehicle. The 35-year-old man who was driving the vehicle was still inside.

Both of them were taken to hospital to be treated for serious injuries.

“Police believe both speed and alcohol were factors in the crash,” reads a media release from LPS.

According to the police, the vehicle had been travelling northbound on Stafford Drive and failed to navigate a corner before crashing through a chain link fence and rolling multiple times down an embankment.

The investigation is ongoing.
