Paranormal Cirque returns to Lethbridge Friday-Monday

“Sometimes, people do get a little upset because they try to bring their young children to the show, expecting it to be a traditional family-friendly circus. This is not one of those circuses.”

Sandra Kalista is one of the performers at Paranormal Cirque, a Rated R horror-themed circus with shows in Lethbridge from May 30 to June 2, 2025.

She says it is perhaps the most fun show she has ever been a part of.

“We have aspects of theatre, we have aspects of comedy, we have cabaret, we have dangerous acts, we have aerials and acrobatics. We have everything,” says Kalista. “If you come to the show and you’re bored, you’re not watching the right show, or you don’t know how to enjoy entertainment.”

Kalista is Paranormal Cirque’s “bearded lady” and considers herself to be “one of the most dangerous sword swallowers alive.”

“I’m also the only female sword swallower in the world who can swallow a running drill.”

The audience will be able to see iconic horror characters like Michael Myers and Freddy Krueger, along with the types of blood and guts that you would expect in horror and thriller movies.

She has been an entertainer for about 30 years now and has done circus side shows for the last 21 years.

Paranormal Cirque, however, is a brand-new world for her as she joined the production in January 2025.

Kalista says she has had a wonderful experience so far and has enjoyed not only working with such talented performers, but also travelling the world and opening people’s minds to new kinds of entertainment.

The shows run at the big tent at Lethbridge & District Exhibition, and tickets can be purchased online here.

Nobody under the age of 13 will be admitted. Those aged 13-17 must be accompanied by an adult.
