Jun 9, 2025 | 11:48 AM

Francophone organizations in Lethbridge are inviting the public to come together and celebrate Saint-Jean-Baptiste Day with a festive and inclusive event taking place June 24, 2025.

This free, open-to-all carnival event aims to highlight the richness of Alberta’s francophone culture through a fun, intergenerational, and inclusive program, starting at 4:30 p.m. at Galt Gardens.

Guests of all ages can enjoy bouncy castles, carnival games, face painting, a special effects workshop, crib tournaments, and a welcoming atmosphere in the heart of downtown. The francophone band Les Accentués will perform a free concert at 6:00 p.m. on the main stage, closing the event with music and celebration.

“This event is a perfect opportunity to bring our community together, celebrate our culture, and strengthen connections among francophones in the region,” says Salina Hewko – President of ACFA Lethbridge. “We look forward to welcoming a broad audience of both francophones and francophiles to join in the celebration of our cultural pride.”

Organizers note the Saint-Jean Carnival is made possible through the collaboration of numerous local partners, including the Centre d’Appui Familial, ACFA régionale de Lethbridge, La Cité des Prairies, CinéMAGINE Alberta, CANAF, Garderie CRELF, École La Vérendrye, FAFA, and the Government of Canada.
