
Cardston, Pincher Creek areas set new temperature records for June 9
Cardston and Pincher Creek are among a list of communities in southern Alberta that set preliminary new daily maximum temperature records on Monday.
According to Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC), the Cardston area set a new preliminary record high for June 9 of 32.2 degrees Celsius on Monday, beating the old record of 31.0 C set in 1992. Records in this area have been kept since 1918.
Meantime, the Pincher Creek area set a new preliminary record daytime high for June 9 of 32.0 C, surpassing the previous record of 29.4 C set in 1918. Records have been kept in this area since 1893.
