City Council continues snow and ice pilot program for another year
Planning has already begun for next winter in Lethbridge.
Earlier this week, city council voted to continue for another year with a pilot program where snow and ice will be plowed to the right and where a subscription-based windrow assistance service will be offered.
“Adding another winter season to this pilot program will provide the next council with further data and resident feedback to help determine the future of snow and ice control in Lethbridge,” says Mayor Blaine Hyggen, in a press release. “We know it is an important topic for people, so we want to ensure that the next council is well prepared to make the best decision moving forward.”
According to city officials, the windrow subscription program is open to residents who live along the snow route network and experience mobility challenges clearing snow from their property.
