Lethbridge man celebrates second lotto win this year

James H. is having a very good year. Not only did the Lethbridge man win $200,000 on a Scratch & Win ticket earlier this year, in May he won another major prize – $100,000 on POKER LOTTO.

According to lottery officials, the winner said it took him a minute to believe what he saw on the store’s self-scanner screen.

“I couldn’t read the screen at first,” he laughed. “I had to scan it three times and then have the cashier scan it for me again.”

When asked how it felt to win this prize, James had a cheeky response.

“Oh, you know, it’s just another day in the neighbourhood,” he laughed.

After winning $200,000 in February, James said he had hoped to purchase a new vehicle and put what was leftover into savings. This time around, the winner said he has one main plan.

“I’m going to put [the money] in the bank and just relax,” he said.

James purchased his winning ticket from the Circle K located at 2515 Highlands Road W in Lethbridge. He won his second major prize of the year by matching all five cards drawn on the May 14 nightly draw – the Queen of spades, four of clubs, seven of clubs, Ace of diamonds and seven of diamonds.
