Nobody was hurt, but 10 people are out of their homes following a fire.

Around 3:20 a.m. on Thursday, June 20, Lethbridge Fire and Emergency Services (LFES) was called to an apartment complex on the 3200 block of 20 Avenue South.

They say a fire was seen coming from a third-floor unit.

Firefighters initiated an exterior attack to cool the fire before entering the building.

LFES says several occupants were rescued by aerial apparatus after becoming trapped on balconies due to heavy smoke in the hallways.

A total of 10 people have been displaced due to fire and smoke damage. The Canadian Red Cross and the City of Lethbridge are assisting those who are affected.

Damages are estimated at $500,000.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
