Property taxes due June 30 in Lethbridge

Jun 23, 2025 | 3:00 PM

Property owners in Lethbridge are being reminded of the impending deadline to pay their taxes.

The City of Lethbridge says penalties will apply to all outstanding balances as of July 1, 2025.

Due to the potential Canada Post strike, the municipality is encouraging people not to send cheques or cash through the mail. Late payment penalties will not be waived in the event that postal workers hit the picket lines.

Instead, payments can be made in person at city hall, directly through your bank, or through online or phone banking using the 13-digit roll number at the top right of your tax notice.

Residents can also utilize a secure mailbox located at the front doors of Lethbridge City Hall or the drive-through drop box in the traffic circle behind the municipal office.

There is the option to use the monthly Tax Instalment Prepayment Plan (TIPP). Enrollment for the 2026 property taxes is available for those who have paid their 2025 taxes in full. The last day to sign up for TIPP is July 21 to start at the beginning of the TIPP cycle.
