The Taber Police Service (TPS) has apprehended a man who is accused of possessing drugs for the purpose of trafficking.

At around 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, June 18, officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the town. Police say the driver was known to have an outstanding warrant.

Drug paraphernalia containing drug residue was reportedly found in the vehicle.

Upon a further search of the vehicle, the TPS claims to have seized over 63 grams of powder cocaine, as well as methamphetamine, crack cocaine, fentanyl and drug paraphernalia consistent with trafficking, and more than $3,700 in cash.

A 37-year-old man from Lethbridge is charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking (cocaine), three counts of possession of a controlled substance, and one count of possession of the proceeds of crime.

He is set to appear in court in Taber on July 29, 2025.

The name of the suspect is not being released by the TPS as the information has not been sworn in before the courts.
