Officials with Holy Spirit Catholic School Division have announced what they describe as a major step forward in their growth and future.

In preparation of the opening of their new westside Lethbridge school in Fall 2026, the Board of Trustees has approved updated attendance boundaries for both North and West Lethbridge. The new attendance boundaries will come into effect on Sept. 1, 2026.

Officials say this announcement comes after extensive community consultation and feedback, and they are grateful to all parents, staff, and community members who participated.

The new attendance areas that will be implemented are as follows:

Approved Northside Option 1: St. Teresa of Calcutta will encompass Legacy, Blackwolf, and the western portion of Uplands. St. Paul will include East Uplands and their southern boundary moves up from Crowsnest Trail to 5 Avenue N. École St. Mary will expand to include the area south of 5th Avenue N.

Approved Westside Option 2: St. Patrick Fine Arts boundary expands to include Ridgewood and Heritage Heights. Children of St. Martha boundary expands to include Indian Battle Heights and Willowbrook. Father Leonard Van Tighem will shift to a Junior High School, creating an attendance area for the new elementary school.

A statement from the division reads, “We know these changes will bring exciting opportunities for our school communities, and we are committed to supporting a smooth transition for everyone.
