Stuff The Bus donation drive returns in Lethbridge

Jun 27, 2025 | 1:23 PM

A non-profit in Lethbridge wants to ensure every student has the tools they need to succeed when school starts this fall.

MyCityCare has launched its annual “Stuff The Bus” campaign, calling on residents to donate new backpacks and school supplies, such as pencils, pens, binders, notebooks and crayons.

Spokesperson Jade Waft says monetary donations are also important, as they allow the organization to purchase supplies in bulk to fill any gaps.

“For many families, the cost of school supplies can be an overwhelming barrier,” says Warf. “Last year, this community showed its incredible generosity, and we were able to help hundreds of students start their school year with dignity. We are confident that Lethbridge will once again rally together to support our local kids and invest in their future.”

This year’s donation drive comes one year after organizers saw a record-breaking need.

A total of 1,703 backpacks were distributed to 865 families, thanks in part to more than 500 volunteer hours.

Donations are being accepted until Friday, August 8. They can be dropped off at 1401 28 Street North.
