Weapons & drug trafficking charges laid in Crowsnest Pass

The RCMP has apprehended two people in Crowsnest Pass on a range of charges.

Officers from the Crowsnest Pass detachment, along with the ALERT SCAN unit, searched a home along Tecumseh Drive northwest of Coleman on Friday, June 27.

Police claim to have confiscated the following items:

  • Seven firearms, one of which was reportedly stolen
  • Two unpinned 21-round capacity pistol magazines
  • 18.5 grams of powder cocaine
  • 5.9 grams of psilocybin
  • 0.3 grams of crack cocaine
  • One stolen vehicle
  • A “large quantity” of stolen lottery tickets

At the time of the search, four people were apprehended at the home, with two of them being charged.

Blair Mielke, 48, of Crownsest Pass, faces 10 counts of what the RCMP described as “weapons offences,” along with three counts of possession of stolen property and one count each of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking and possession of items used to traffic a controlled substance. Mielke remains in custody and is set to appear in court on July 3 in Lethbridge.

Terri-Ann Smith, 48, of Crowsnest Pass, is charged with possession of stolen property. She remains in custody with a July 2 court date in Lethbridge.
