Feedback from City of Lethbridge business survey to impact policies & strategies

Business owners in Lethbridge are being encouraged to take part in the City of Lethbridge’s new survey.

The survey will be conducted over the phone by Deloitte LLP from July 7-18, 2025.

Darrel Mathews, Chief Financial Officer with the City, says it is meant to assess the current business climate.

“What we’re looking for here, really, and the reason I want to bring it to the community, is so that how the business development and retention and so forth can happen in our community, and some of the things that’re working well and then some others we know are opportunities for improvement,” says Mathews.

Participants will be primarily asked questions regarding the economy, but the survey will also focus on areas like tourism and the City of Lethbridge.

The results, Mathews explains, will help the municipality to develop initiatives related to business, such as a new economic development plan, fees for services for Tourism Lethbridge and Economic Development Lethbridge, development-based incentives, and plans for Lethbridge & District Exhibition.

Deloitte will contact a random list of businesses over the next two weeks, and the survey should take around 15 minutes to complete.

Anyone who would like to participate or who was not contacted by Deloitte can voluntarily register for the phone survey here.
