The Southern Alberta Ethnic Association’s (SAEA) annual Latin Fest Celebration held on Saturday, July 5 has been deemed another success.

The festival held at Galt Gardens Park was a vibrant celebration of Latin culture, food, and community. From traditional performances and delicious dishes to hands-on activities, organizers say it was a rich experience full of learning and connection. They add that it was a great way to explore and appreciate the diversity of Latin cultures.

Organizers note the Latin Fest was marked by various activities including traditional vocal and instrumental music; dance performances; food vendor stalls featuring authentic cuisines and vibrant cultural costumes to educate the younger generations.

Officials say the festival attracted over 1,200 people.

According to organizers, various member groups of SAEA showcased their rich heritage in the form of food and performances. They included Sabor Argentina, Colors of Mexico, Mexicanos Sin Fronteras, Grupo Latino Las Doñas, Luisa Aminda Quan, Antojitos Latin Cravings, Chocolinleth, Food Trucks, including LE Mexicana, La Gloria Latin Comfort Food, La Paloma Tacos and Authentic Churros.

There were also displays from Lethbridge Family Services, Costo Lethbridge, World Financial Group and Lethbridge Pride Fest Society

Officials say the SAEA has been showcasing ethnic diversity in Southern Alberta Since 1977, by highlighting different global cultures, languages, cuisines, cultural dancing, performances and ethnic music, as well as thoughts and philosophies.
