June rental rates up in Lethbridge but down year-over-year

Lethbridge rental rates saw an increase last month but are down from the same month last year.

That’s according to the latest National Rent Report from rentals.ca and Urbanation.

The average rent for a one-bedroom unit in Lethbridge last month was $1,325, up 1.6 per cent from May but down 2.8 per cent from June of last year.

Meantime, the average rent for a two-bedroom unit in Lethbridge in June was $1,617 per month, up 0.3 per cent from May and 4.7 per cent from June 2024.

Lethbridge came in at 51 on the list of 60 Canadian communities included in the National Rent Report.

Elsewhere in Alberta, Calgary was 43rd on the list with an average rent of $1,602 per month for a one-bedroom unit and $1,946 per month for a two-bedroom.

Airdrie was 48th on the list with an average rent of $1,489 per month for a one-bedroom unit and $1,795 per month for a two-bedroom.

Edmonton was 50th on the list with an average rent of $1,334 per month for a one-bedroom unit and $1,701 per month for a two-bedroom place.

Red Deer placed 53rd on the list with an average rent of $1,296 per month for a one-bedroom unit and $1,550 per month for a two-bedroom pad.

Fort McMurray was 56th on the list with an average rent of $1,237 per month for a one-bedroom and $1,450 per month for a two-bedroom unit.

Medicine Hat was 57th on the list with an average rent of $1,210 per month for a one-bedroom unit and $1,385 per month for a two-bedroom place.

Lloydminster was 58th on the list with an average rent of $1,059 per month for a one-bedroom unit and $1,275 per month for a two-bedroom rental.
