Police responding to high-risk incident in south Lethbridge

UPDATE (2:10 p.m. Thursday): The Lethbridge Police Service says a high-risk incident on the south side has concluded.

A spokesperson told LNN that “at least two” people were taken into custody.

Regular use of the area can resume.

The Lethbridge Police Service (LPS) is advising the public that they are responding to a high-risk incident.

It was first reported around 12:35 p.m. on Thursday and is occurring on the 2300 block of 22 Street South.

LPS did not elaborate on the nature of the incident.

The public is asked to avoid the area for the time being.
