The city’s largest celebration of Filipino culture is set to get underway next weekend.

The 2025 Lethbridge Fiesta Extravaganza (LFE), also known as the Festival of Smiles, takes place at Henderson Lake Park on Saturday and Sunday, July 19 and 20.

“This festival promises to be a celebration of our community’s rich artistic diversity, with performances that highlight the creativity and passion of our talented musicians,” reads a statement from organizers to LNN.

They add that the two-day event promises “Sining, Sayaw and Saya,” or Arts, Dance and Joy, with cultural presentations, live performances and Filipino food.

The grand opening ceremony takes place at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday with a parade, with speeches from local dignitaries to follow.

One of the highlights of the LFE is a music festival, featuring performances from artists such as Caliya, Loise Maica, Dessa, and Version 2.

Some of the new additions to this year’s festival include:

  • Pet Fashion Show: A charming new event for furry friends to shine.
  • Star-Studded Concerts: Enjoy two high-energy nights featuring Philippine entertainment icons Powerhouse Diva Dessa and film/TV star Joross Gamboa.
  • Manny Pacquiao Livestream: Catch the highly anticipated return of boxing legend Manny Pacquiao vying for the WBC Welterweight Championship, streamed live on a big screen.
  • Honkers Pub Beer Garden: A refreshing addition to the festival grounds for attendees.
  • Barrio FIESLA Food Expo: Dive into authentic Filipino cuisine with a one-of-a-kind food expo, including a Lechon food truck roasting the famous Filipino pork right before your eyes

People of all cultures and backgrounds are invited to take part in the festivities.
