Additional charges of sexual assault laid against Lethbridge man

The Lethbridge Police Service (LPS) says it has heard from more alleged victims of sexual assault.

Back in May 2025, LPS was alerted to a social media post in which multiple women claimed to have been sexually assaulted by the same man. The post was made by a third party – not any of the alleged victims.

Police spoke with one of the women, a 35-year-old, who reported that she attended the home of a male acquaintance to socialize and accepted a drink from him. She allegedly became unwell and was sexually assaulted. This matter is said to have occurred in April 2019 and was previously unreported.

Since May, three others have been identified with allegations taking place between 2009 and 2022.

Landon Byron Kern Waters, 37, of Lethbridge, is charged with three counts of sexual assault, two counts of assault with a weapon, and two counts of administering a drug to overcome resistance. These new charges are in addition to the initial count of sexual assault laid in June.

Waters has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court on August 26, 2025.

LPS believes that there may be even more victims. Anyone who has been victimized, or who has information that could assist in the investigation, is asked to call LPS 403-328-4444 and reference file 25052933.
