Calgary Stampeders place starter Vernon Adams Jr. on one-game injured list
CALGARY — The Calgary Stampeders will be without starting quarterback Vernon Adams Jr. when they face the Ottawa Redblacks on Thursday.
Calgary (5-2) placed Adams on the one-game injured list with a head injury, meaning P.J. Walker will start against Ottawa (1-6).
Adams was injured in the second half of Calgary’s 23-21 loss to Montreal last week. He was hit by Alouettes’ linebacker Tyrice Beverette following a seven-yard run.
He was able to walk off the field on his own, but didn’t return. Montreal outscored Calgary 9-0 in the fourth quarter to secure the victory.
