The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) has made another large-scale drug bust.

On Monday, July 28, 2025, officers at the Coutts port of entry were conducting a secondary inspection of a commercial truck that was attempting to enter Canada from the United States.

During the search, CBSA officers allegedly found a duffel bag that contained nearly 67 kilograms of cocaine.

Janalee Bell-Boychuk, Regional Director General for the Prairie Region at the CBSA, says, “This seizure at the Coutts port of entry demonstrates the effectiveness of CBSA’s detection capabilities and the important role our officers play to keep our communities safe. We remain committed to securing and protecting our border alongside our law enforcement partners.”

Trieu Thanh Ngoc Le, 49, of Edmonton, is charged with one count each of importing a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, and smuggling into Canada.

Le made his first appearance in court in Lethbridge on July 31, 2025.
