Aug 13, 2025 | 9:14 AM

There will be no more open fires in the coulees in Lethbridge.

The City of Lethbridge has activated its fire ban for the River Valley, which is effective immediately and until further notice.

It impacts the use of the campfire pits in the River Valley.

Elsewhere in the city, the public is still allowed to use propane/natural gas-powered appliances, indoor wood fires, and open-flame oil devices.

Officials say that higher temperatures and lower humidity in recent days have “significantly” elevated the risk of wildfires.
