Lethbridge’s Jaime Vandenberg wins Miss Universe Canada
A woman from Lethbridge says she is the first Canadian to win all of the nation’s “Big Four” pageants.
On Saturday, August 9, Jaime Vandenberg was crowned Miss Universe Canada, besting 74 others from across the country.
She tells LNN that it was a surreal experience, but it did not feel exactly how she thought it would.
“To be totally transparent, like I just felt very numb, like I didn’t feel like what was happening was actually real. And it’s taken me like a few days to be like, okay, that was real,” she says. “I always thought I would cry, like it would be so overwhelming. But yeah, because of my past traumatic experiences, it was kind of like numb.”
