City of Lethbridge hiring hundreds of election workers

Anyone looking for a few weeks of work in Lethbridge can help out with the 2025 municipal elections.

The City of Lethbridge says it is planning to hire “several hundred workers” for a variety of positions, including:

  • Assistant Presiding Deputy Returning Officer: assists the presiding deputy returning officer
  • Deputy Returning Officer: deals with electors, ballots and ballot boxes
  • Information officer: assists electors with identification and registration
  • Institutional/Assisted at home: conducts the elections at institutions and assisted at home
  • Ballot counters: manual counting of ballots

Applications are being accepted until September 2. Successful candidates will be contacted by the City of Lethbridge and training for election workers will begin in mid-September.

The jobs will run from October 8-22, 2025.

Election workers must be at least 18 years old and eligible to work in Canada.
