Missing woman identified as deceased person found in Brooks

The Brooks RCMP is reporting an unfortunate end to their search for a missing person.

On the evening of Wednesday, August 20, officers were informed that human remains had been found in an alley near Southshore Drive.

The deceased has now been identified as Fatima Ahmed, a 20-year-old woman who had been missing since Aug. 15.

An autopsy was completed on Friday, Aug. 22. The cause of death is pending, and the RCMP is continuing to investigate.

“RCMP sends condolences to Fatima’s family and friends,” reads a news release from the Brooks RCMP.
