LPS investigating suspicious device at Immanuel Christian Elementary School

UPDATE (2:06 p.m. Friday) The Lethbridge Police Service says the device has been determined to be “non-suspicious.”

The public may return to the area.

As the matter is not criminal in nature, LPS says it will not be releasing any further information.

Just after 1:30 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 19, LPS stated that it was investigating a report of a suspicious device at Immanuel Christian Elementary School on the 2000 block of 5 Avenue North.

Students are not present at the school at this time.

The public is asked to stay away from the area.

LPS says it will provide updates when they become available.
