Two charged with drug production in Medicine Hat

Charges have now been laid against a pair of people who are accused of mixing illegal drugs.

The Alberta Law Enforcement Response Team (ALERT), along with the RCMP and Medicine Hat Police Service, searched a home on 12 Street Northwest on October 9, 2025.

The house was allegedly being used to alter fentanyl and combine it with other chemicals.

Officers claim to have seized $135,000 worth of drugs, including:

  • 598 grams of fentanyl
  • 102 grams of methamphetamine
  • 85 grams of cocaine
  • 47 grams of psilocybin mushrooms
  • 21 milliliters of GHB

Also confiscated from the home was $5,445 in cash.

Denai Lanz, 43, and Aaron Greenwood, 36, both from Medicine Hat, are charged with possession for use in the production of a controlled substance, possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking, possession of drugs, possession of the proceeds of crime, and unauthorized possession of a weapon.

ALERT says Lanz also has numerous charges relating to the failure to comply with release order conditions. She remains in custody and is scheduled to appear in court on Oct. 21, 2025.

Greenwood was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court on Oct. 28, 2025.
