Election Results: Lethbridge

The first batches of ballots are continuing to be counted in Lethbridge for the 2025 municipal election.

The City of Lethbridge says a total of 17,102 people cast a ballot out of 88,647 eligible voters, meaning that turnout was around 19.3 per cent.

UPDATE #5 (2:10 p.m. Wednesday)

The City of Lethbridge says it has discovered that some ballots were entered into the system twice.

They say that this has been corrected, and that it did not affect the outcome of the mayoral race.

Most of the votes have now been counted in the race for school board trustee in the Holy Spirit Catholic School Division, Ward 2.

UPDATE #4 (10:30 p.m. Tuesday)

With all polls now reporting, Blaine Hyggen is projected to have won with an estimated 7,591 votes, or approximately 44.5 per cent.

He is set to serve a second term as mayor after two terms on city council.

Ryan Mennie was projected to come in at second place with 6,716 ballots, or 37.9 per cent.

Quentin Carlson is projected to be in third place with 1,864 votes, or 10.5 per cent, while Michael Petraks had 698 votes or 3.9 per cent.

UPDATE #3 (6:30 p.m. Tuesday)

More ballots in the race for Lethbridge City Council have been counted.

A total of 18 out of 20 polls have reported their unofficial counts.

Eight seats are up for grabs, and currently, the leading candidates are Belinda Crowson, Jenn Schmidt-Rempel, Rajko Dodic, Al Beeber, Ryan Wolfe, Rufa Doria, Mark Campbell, and Ryan Parker.

There have been no further updates to vote counting for the mayor’s race or school board trustee.

UPDATE #2 (2:30 p.m. Tuesday)

The City of Lethbridge has provided the first update on the race for city council.

With 10 out of 20 polls reporting, here is how the 18 candidates are faring so far:

There are eight seats on Lethbridge City Council.

There have been no further updates to vote counting for the mayor’s race.

UPDATE #1 (10:30 a.m. Tuesday)

With 13 out of 20 polls reporting, incumbent Blaine Hyggen is currently leading the mayoral race with an estimated 42.54 per cent (5,040).

Ryan Mennie is in second place with 38.46 per cent of the votes (4,557) counted so far.

Quentin Carlson is third with 10.28 per cent (1,218), while Michael Petrakis is fourth with 4.14 per cent (490).

Vote counters have rejected 543 ballots, representing about 4.58 per cent.

There are no results for the city council and school board races at this time.

The City is expecting to publish further results at 1:00 p.m., 5:30 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. Tuesday.
